Artist Focus: Studio Wildlife

Studio Wildlife is a partnership between artist couple Daniel Wilson and Amber Tyldesley. Having met through the ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year’ competition they have since created the Studio Wildlife blog and YouTube channel, sharing their experiences and wildlife art tips. EASEL is excited to be featuring their work for the first time!

Daniel Wilson
Daniel is 25 years old and has have been painting wildlife since he was 17, stemming from an interest in biology and love of the natural world. Currently a full-time biology teacher he paints in his spare time. Daniel works primarily in charcoal or acrylics in a style that he describes as abstract realism. Daniel has sold work internationally and has been shortlisted for the DSWF ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year’ competition for the last two consecutive years.

Amber Tyldesley
Amber, also 25 years old, has been a professional artist since 2015. Amber works primarily in acrylics which she finds best suit her style, which involves building layers of detail. Amber has been a finalist in the DSWF ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year’ competition, receiving two highly-commended awards and the People’s Choice prize in 2019.
